Everything but the kitchen sink

At the end of December, we will be moving into a small, six sided house. It will consist of three rooms, a loft, and a kitchen sink... that's it.

Our tiny home is being built on a local family's land. This is part of a homestay project in which local families are given some income, and an opportunity to upgrade their property over time. They will get some of the rent we pay on a monthly basis (the rest goes back to the project, to pay off costs), and after ten years, they will own the building itself.

The house will have solar electricity, hopefully enough for a freezer, some electronic charging, and lights. Cooking will run off gas, and water will come from rain-water tanks. We will be sharing an outside shower and composting toilet with the rest of the homestead.

We have ordered a bed-frame and a table from a (reasonably) local business. Our new freezer and mattress are scheduled for delivery on January the 2nd.

However, everything else that we need will have to be be transported all 1300 km (give or take) in our Citi Golf and rented bakkie/trailer.

Furniture is not important to us, and neither of us are clever homemakers. But we do need to plan and create an environment in which we are free to do our work without unnecessary brain clutter. This is the project of the next month or so!
